This is a quote from Lois after a recent dislocated hip. She couldn’t adequately describe the pain. It was like nothing she’d experienced before. Someone asked, “Did you cry?” She couldn’t even cry. It hurt too much. Can you imagine such pain?
Perhaps you can. Pain can hard to describe when you’re in it. Often it shows up in tears, possibly anger, or maybe depression.
Sometimes there are no words. You’re just in it. If there’s any communication, it’s with God. Humans don’t quite understand your pain.
But you do. And it can be a lonely place.
Whether it’s physical pain, emotional pain, whatever the flavor, it’s bitter.
Jesus said in this world we’d have trouble. He was right. The good news is: He’s bigger than your hurt.
Lean on him. Cry if you need to. Or not.
He’s here.
