When you’re a kid, school is kind of like your job. It’s much of your identity. It feels like a full-time gig.
But these kids barely go. Okay, it’s based on a 5-day week, but it seems like they’re off every week for something. They start at what? 9 and get off at 3:30? It’s not even an 8-hour day. They get 3 months’ vacation? All the major holidays. Fall break. A week at Thanksgiving. 2 weeks at Christmas. Spring break. Teacher work days. They’re there for like a total of 3 weeks. I don’t know how they get anything done!
Why, when I was a boy, we went to school 7 days a week! And a half day at Christmas!
And don’t get me started on that uphill walk in the snow. (Both ways!)
