Jesus rebuked the disciples for their hard hearts, simply because they so often just didn’t get it. Example: He broke 5 loaves for the 5000, but they still thought it was about bread.
Hard hearts can come from long held-beliefs, unyielding to new possibilities. Our style of worship, version of the Bible, or who is a “true man of God.”
When we become so confident we begin to lose sight of the gift of grace and mercy, we risk losing humility and the spiritual gift of gentleness.
Don’t let your heart be hardened.
