Keeping Christmas on the Brain

Surround yourself with it. Don’t let much time pass without the music on, the movies playing, and the feasting going.

Stay near the kitchen. Compliment the cook.

Take your time opening gifts. Celebrate and appreciate each one.

Tell your family you love them, individually and as a group. Make it awkward if necessary. It’s important to say I love you.

There’s enough hardship the rest of the year to keep our brains occupied, and if we’re not careful, even obsessed. Thank you Lord for Christmas, that pushes back the darkness for a few weeks and reminds us who we are, and why we’re here.

Then keep the love going through the weekend. Keep the music on. Get together with loved ones. The Christmas spirit doesn’t have to end on Boxing Day!

Set your brain on things above, and you can truly have a “Merry Christmas!”
