His popularity was getting crazy, so they thought he was too. Large crowds pressed in to get to him. He missed meals, put strangers’ needs first, ignored real threats, and chose 12 goofballs to follow him.
Jesus’ close friends and family knew him before he was famous. They grew up with him. Did they think it had gone to his head? Maybe. Were they concerned for his welfare? Likely. But mostly:
They just didn’t get it.
Maybe you’ve been misunderstood by your family for your faith. Those closest to you don’t quite get it either. Besides, they’ve seen your imperfections and can easily call you out.
Isn’t it nice to know the savior of the world can relate?
