Focus on blessings because hardships come, but there’s always something to be grateful for.
So here I go.
Lois. Faithful. Strong. Smart. Gorgeous. A lifetime of memories and love. I wish we were together more, but absence makes the heart grow hotter. I mean fonder.
Four healthy kids and sons and daughters-in-law. Three grandkids who light up our lives. (IYKYK). Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family are still healthy and connected.
Above average health.
A meaningful, fulfilling job. I’m treated well, and we’re a close-knit group.
I love my music life. My awesome band with some of the best friends ever. I love my drum students, and when they “get it” when a beat comes together.
I love the Beatles and how their music makes me feel. I love the music of my youth and how it reminds me of “the places I remember. Some have gone, and some have changed.”
I love the sky at sunrise and sunset. I love a full moon.
I love freshly cut grass and the smell of the air after the rain. I love summer despite the heat.
I love a good baseball game. Heck, I love a bad baseball game. I love the World Series and a walk-off home run. I actually cry.
I love babies.
I love a fresh haircut, a new pair of pants, and a good teeth cleaning.
I love comedy. I love to laugh and make others laugh. I love sharing on the radio and in print, and I love it when it pleases people.
I love how Jesus changed me from a drinking, smoking idiot to a Jesus-loving idiot.
In all my erroneous ways, I’m grateful to be a child of God who wants to know Him more each day.
Bless the Lord, my soul, and forget not His benefits! Psalm 103
