Not sure why God chose a “government official” for a healing in John chapter 4. Does that sweeten it? Maybe.
Perhaps more important was this guy believed Jesus was who said He was. And in spite of his high position, the senator humbled himself and pursued Jesus at great expense of time, energy, and resources.
Jesus was so taken by his faith he healed the son immediately, even though the boy was 20 miles away. Then he simply told the man, “Go.”
The key: The official pursued Jesus, believed Jesus, and obeyed Jesus.
Can we do that too?
