You’re just a person. A person with faults. You try to do right. You want to be happy, but you run into setbacks regularly. Sometimes of your own doing. Sometimes just life, man.
You’re minding your own business, even though many people know your business. You’re trying to avoid people and just get through the day. A guy approaches you and makes small talk. Odd because you’re a woman of a different race and culture. It’s socially inappropriate for a man to interact with you alone. But he begins asking questions. They become personal questions. You become uncomfortable, even defensive. You try to change the subject.
But he keeps bringing the topic back to you. Then you realize he really knows you. He knows you better than anybody you’ve ever met. There’s something about him. He speaks the truth, but he does it in a loving way. You realize he’s not just any guy. He must be special.
Who the heck is this guy?
He offers help. He offers hope. He clearly cares about you. This is unlike anybody you’ve ever encountered. You listen to his words. You eventually understand and accept his offer. A huge weight is lifted! You can’t wait to tell everybody about this man who knows you, loves you anyway, and offers you not only an abundant life, but eternal life! Amazing!
Can you imagine it? You actually met Jesus!
