Brand new believers shine! It’s euphoric! Joyous! It’s awesome when we say yes to Jesus. Celebratory!
It’s also comfortable. This doesn’t take away from our conversion, but consider; We didn’t have to do anything but say yes. Our surrender was real, but it’s hard to know what all we’re surrendering. Our future is concealed.
Meantime, there’s plenty of fun stuff! Church, fellowship, music. The best!
But somewhere it gets hard. When life hurts, and seemingly there’s no possible fix, we have to walk what we talk. I can tell people Jesus is greater than anything. And I want them to believe it. But how apparent is it in me?
You probably know Christians who talk about their problems more than God’s power.
Maybe they’re truly in dire straights. And though it’s extremely difficult, with time, and if Jesus really is King, shouldn’t it eventually start to show up? Like joy in spite of circumstances?
Now imagine those Christians and ask, “How much greater is Jesus than my plight?”
So much greater.
Let it shine!
