You’ve heard it before. Listen to Jesus. “The still small voice.” The Holy Spirit.
But it’s easier said than done. Your mind wanders. Your head fills with preconceived ideas, past experiences, maybe what you want people to believe about you.
You gotta get through the red tape in your head. The voice that shouts over the small voice. “Here’s what I want.” “But I’m not worthy.” “I wonder what God’s saying.”
In other words, it doesn’t always come quickly or easily. Sometimes you have to work for it. Focus. Pray. Again. Don’t give up.
Pray for wisdom. Discernment. It doesn’t come like a bolt of lightning or a light bulb or a chorus of angels. It’s subtle. God often comes through the back door and reveals things in unexpected ways, only evident in hindsight.
Stop. Listen! If you seek Him, you will find Him!
