It was 60 years ago today….
Almost. The Ed Sullivan show February 9th, 1964, was a lifetime ago. 73 million people watched that Sunday night. No streaming, prerecording. Everyone gathered around their TV at the scheduled time, just to see this monumental event.
It was the Beatles’ official introduction to America, but by this time, they’d been on the radio for a year. By the release of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” in November of ‘63, the sensation had reached unprecedented heights.
Thus, their nationwide TV debut ignited an explosion they called Beatlemania.
They not only dominated the music charts, but the culture worldwide. Their fame surpassed anything like it before or since. Name an artist, and none has been more successful or influential than the Fabs. For 60 years! They’ve never gone out of style!
Guaranteed to raise a smile!
