I met the best waiter in the world. I mean it. I challenge you to find a better waiter than Matt the Waiter.
You’ll find him at Pappadeaux in Fort Worth. We were greeted with a smile and an assumption we’d been there before. To learn that we were first-timers launched an avalanche of information, menu options, customer ratings, and history of the franchise. It was almost a one-act play.
He was worth the price of a meal himself. He made recommendations, offered accommodating substitutions, plus a giant Creme Brulee for us to share! Complimentary! I said “Thank you!” He said “You’re welcome! Nice haircut!”
If this guy was president, the world would love us. If he was your dad, you’d go on to do great things in life. If he was your friend, you’d always have a ride to the airport.
And he is your friend. He’s Matt the Waiter.
I don’t know if he’s a Christian, but he sure looks like a strong candidate!
Oh, that we’d all approach our jobs, yea our lives, with such excellence, passion, and fun.
“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as for the Lord, not for men.” Col 3:23
