She was raised in a wholesome, working middle class family. She grew in knowledge, faith, and love. She dreamed of raising her own family and making her mark in her community and the world. She thrived and lived the dream. She thought, “God must really like me!”
But before she knew it, she passed the “age of acceptability”. Friends began making “Get off my lawn” jokes. Her children gradually allowed more time between visits. Her job began having parties when she was out. In the time it takes to take her Metamuci, she went from big fish to lone slug.
One day she showed up for work, and her boss looked at her, blinked twice, and asked, “What was your name again?
She couldn’t remember.
