There are lots people to blame and lots of people who are wrong. And lots of people are making that very well known.
You don’t have to be one of those people.
Sure, it’s good to “take a stand”. Sure, “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”. Now the saying us “Silence is violence”. I don’t know about that. But I know this. We’ve heard it. Many times. My point is, if everyone is taking a stand, it becomes noise. Perhaps there’s a little room for somebody to sit out of the discussion occasionally.
It’s lately been brought to my attention that we all basically want the same things. The “how to” seems to be the rub. If we go back to the foundational “what we all want”, we might save ourselves some time and heartache.
What’s the solution? Jesus, of course. And before you’re tempted to think that’s too heavenly minded to be any earthly good, first of all I’m okay with that. I’ll take it as a compliment. I believe we can use more of that.
Secondly, Jesus provides all we need. Salvation, security, peace, freedom, joy, and a bunch of other awesome stuff that gives life. If we can get to the place where we make Him the filter by which we work out our issues, we’ll be more apt to answer softly, give others the benefit of the doubt, and shine Light which draws people in.
The symptoms are all around us. The Answer is right in front of us.
