It’s absolutely impossible without a 100% surrender to Jesus.
Philippians 2 is kicking my tail.
It’s unimaginable to “put others’ interests before my own” when I vehemently disagree with those interests, and in fact view them as destructive.
With a few exceptions, everyone prioritizes their own interests. This is opposite scripture’s instruction. It’s evident everywhere you look.
Evident except when looking inward. I usually justify that.
A key point of God’s Word is to internalize it. Unfortunately, we tend to apply it to others.
Christ can help us be more like Him, and humble ourselves.
I’ve been mulling over this topic as well. I did a teaching on the discipline of submission about a year ago and I’ve been reviewing it to turn into a blog series. Yikes, it’s so convicting. Submitting to one another in love is no joke.
