He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress. I will never be shaken. – Psalm 66.2
We know the word of God provides peace, wisdom, and comfort. We know we can go there anytime. What we don’t know is why we can let so much time go by not turning there for the answers and insight we know are there!
“I’m so busy!”
If it’s ever a question of “I don’t have time”, allow me to recommend this bite-size verse you can keep with you and pull out as often as you need. It’s short in length, but long in perspective. Within these mere seventeen words are volumes of Godly direction and perspective.
As a husband, dad, grandparent and Christian broadcaster I have plenty of opportunities to let anxiety sneak in, which ultimately leads to fear. And when I’m operating out of fear, I’m not trusting Him. If I’m not trusting Him, I’m approaching my decisions and relationships in my own intuition. This is never good for anybody!
God is faithful.
When you’re feeling distant, frustrated, or even hopeless, the Bible provides just what you need, and often in ways you didn’t expect! Read it! But when you’re “in the moment” and you just need a quick reminder that “You’ll get through this”:
“He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress. I will never be shaken.”
