1) They would call each other “Spouses”. They know they’re both actually spouses, but they would use the term to attack each other, in an accusatory tone. “You said you were going to start helping around the house, but that was just the narrative you used to gain favor. Now you’re just playing spouse”.
2) When really mad, and they simply don’t like their spouse right now, they would intentionally contradict anything he/she wanted, even if they’d wanted that very same thing a couple years ago. “That privacy fence? What a terrible idea! It’s expensive, it’s ineffective, and it’s immoral.”
3) They would use the most tired cliché of all as a last resort. When at odds on how to discipline the children, they would default to, “Sure, we can go with the failed policies of the past, or we can do the will of the American people.”
