What’s Your Crazy Dream?

I want to go to Liverpool.

Crazy, I know. But I’ve wanted to go all my life. I don’t know why, other than the fact I love the Beatles, and they aren’t even there. Their remnants are. Their statues, tour routes, and memorabilia are. The history of the band is all there.

I have a feeling if I went there it wouldn’t live up to the hype I’ve lived since 1963, but I don’t care. It’s a life-long bucket list item, and I want to go.

You may think, “that’s not much of a bucket-list goal.” What about Israel, or Hawaii, or Australia? Someplace beautiful.

Nope.

I want to see where John, George, Paul and Ringo lived. Then I want to see where they recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London.

So why haven’t I gone? After all, it’s been fifty-five years! One reason:

No plan.

So what’s your goal? What have you always wanted to do? Why haven’t you done it? Very possibly the same reason.

But perhaps you have planned, but you’ve failed.

Then you need a plan B.

The reason most of us don’t fulfill our dreams, is because we haven’t started. We’re either afraid of failing, we doubt ourselves, or we think it’ll seem silly to someone.

One thing we all have, is an excuse.

Many of us will live the balance of our lives with a deep sigh, accepting the fact that it just isn’t going to happen. That doesn’t have to be you!

Count the cost. Make a plan. Start now. It may take years, but it can happen! You just have to begin.

Baby steps.

I’m talking to myself as much as to you. So I’m looking at air fares and approximately how much I need to save to make Liverpool a reality by next year. It looks like I can actually do this!

So can you! Now, get started!

“Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run…” (Proverbs 21:5a)
